(Sekimoto AKA Zeus Master of The Universe)
Boys and Girls every once and a while a promotion comes along that makes you smile and restores your faith in humanity as a whole. Well BJW is said promotion so lets watch the show.
Match 1: Yoshihisa Uto vs Kazumi Kikuta
This clipped but overall it seemed like a good fast paced rookie style match. It also amused me that Uto wears a amateur wrestling helmet while he works, for whatever reason. Uto wins with the Super Ultra Omega Rookie Hold Of Doom!™
Match Grade: C
Match 2: Tsutomu Oosugi & Hercules Senga vs MEN's Teioh & Shinobu
Another clipped match. I really couldn't follow much of the story here in this one due to it. Ol' Terry may be old but at least he's still entertaining, Oosugi and Senga are a real tag team and are the younger guys so it's no surprise that they one.
Match Grade: n/a
Match 3: Great Kojika, Kankuro Hoshino, & Masaya Takahashi vs The Brahman Brothers (Shu & Kei) & Toshiyuki Sakuta
This was a good comedy match, the Brahman Brothers shtick is always entertaining even if it is a little contrived. On the same token old man Kojika is equally as hilarious and entertaining. The Brahman's win and challenge Kojika to another match on the upcoming Sumo Hall show.
Match Grade: C
Match 4 Light Tube Death Match: Yankee Two Kenju (Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto) vs Jaki Numazawa & Takumi Tsukamoto
Our first death match of the night. Yankee Two Kenju is one of my favorite tag teams right now, they have the distinction of equally as good in regular matches as they are in death matches. Heck even Numazawa can be good if he's in there with the right people. However this wasn't one of either teams better matches. While the closing moments were fast paced and exciting the vast majority of was slow and boring. Yuko gets the win for his team with the moonsault.
Match Grade: C-
Match 5 Barbed Wire Board & Tetsuori Death Match: Ryuji Ito & Ryuichi Sekine vs Masashi Takeda & Takayuki Ueki
Unlike the previous death match, this one was really good, well structured and was exciting from start to finish. Ito even brought out the salt, the bastard! Ito takes a page out of the Misawa play book and wins with a forearm smash! Afterwards Ito cuts a promo hyping up his upcoming title match against Abdullah Kobayashi, who came out and busted himself open and stuck his face straight in a pile of salt. What a loon.
Match Grade: B
Match 6: Double Hashimoto (Kazuki & Daichi) vs Tatsuhito Takaiwa & Atsushi Maruyama
Daichi is the son of the legendary & late Shinya Hashimoto, Kazuki is one of BJW's up and comers in it's strong division, Takaiwa is one of the greatest juniors of all time and Maruyama is good too. This match was very enjoyable but never got to the next level. Though it was nice to see Daichi outside of the suckhole known as IGF, hope he gets to that some more.
Match Grade: C+
Main Event: Daisuke Sekimoto & The Twin Towers (Shuji Ishikawa & Kohei Sato) vs Yuji Okabayashi, Ryuichi Kawakami & Hideyoshi Kamitani
This match was literally perfection. It was meant to hype up Okabayashi vs Sekimoto and my god it did it and then some. Seriously everyone in it worked their role to a T. Go watch this match just do it I won't even spoil it for you, watch you won't regret it. Sekimoto & Okabayashi cut promos on one another hyping their big main event in Ryogoku, which can't come soon enough!
Match Grade: A+
Final Show Grade: B
Well this was a really fun show and I for 1 can't wait for the Ryogoku show! I especially can't wait for Sekimoto vs Okabayashi, they have one of the most dynamic and interesting feuds going today, they pull off the fact they can be the greatest of allies in a tag team one day and bitter rivals the next. Well 'til next time boys and girls stay classy and WATCH BJW!!! You aren't one of the cool kids unless you do.
