(Hint He isn't one of them)
5. Zack Sabre Jr.
Ah yes one of Noah's most well kept secrets, Mr. Sabre does not always get the respect he deserves especially when it comes to Noah's booking committee. However things are beginning to really pick up for this young Brit as he's coming off winning the Technical Wrestler of The Year Award from the WON Awards dethroning longtime champion Daniel Bryan, which given the incredible performer Bryan is this speaks volumes for just how talented of performer Zack is. On top of this he has began to make appearances outside of Japan, most notably in PWG where he wrestled current World Champion Roderick Strong, he's also seemed to receive some much needed attention from Noah as he and his long time tag partner Yoshinari Ogawa will be getting a shot at the GHC JR. Tag Belts at Noah's next big show. Yes things are beginning to shine brightly for Mr. Sabre and if fate will have it, I only think things are gonna get brighter for Young Mr. Sabre.
4. Seki Yoshioka
Anyone who's fallowed this blog knows that I've gone to great lengths to praise just how talented Yoshioka is. While I like many other of Wrestle-1's rookies, he's the one who stands out the most to me, therefore putting him on here was a no brainer. On top of this Wrestle-1 has formed a cruiser weight division so if there was ever a time for Seiki to stand out even more than he already does now would be the time. I also recommend you check out out his tag team with junior legend Minoru Tanaka aka Too Sharp.
3. Trevor Lee
Oh you haven't heard of Trevor Lee you say. Well allow me to enlighten you. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe him. In fact I am not even sure there's a word in the English language or any language for that matter that can describe how great this dude is, if you haven't seen him please do you'd be doing yourself a huge favor. And if you had to ask me who my pick is to be the next PWG Champion, look no further than the Carolina Caveman himself, Trevor Lee!
2.Eli Drake
But LP he just debuted you say. Pfft so what I mean look at this guy just look at him, what about Eli doesn't say star? The only question is how stupid was wwe to let this guy go. The man formerly known as Shaun Ricker is simply a star and no matter where he goes or how long he stays, he'll leave an impression that lasts a lifetime, which is more than can be said about a lot of wrestlers. AND THAT'S NOT AN INSULT THAT'S A FACT OF LIFE!!!!!!
Before we get to number one let me run off a few honorable mentions: Ec3, I felt like last year was his breakout year and this year will on build off of that success. Kenou, while Kenou is certainly no stranger to success and although his signing to Noah means he'll be getting some mainstream attention I just didn't feel right putting him on here, so he just barely missed the cut. Yasufumi Nakanoue and Yuske Kodama, these guys are in the same boat at this stage of the game, while both have shown a lot of promise Wrestle-1 has shown little to no interest in pushing them beyond their low to mid-card status at the moment, which is a shame because of just how talented both these guys are. Daiki Inaba, injuries are a bitch aren't they. If he hadn't gotten hurt Inaba would be on this list without question, but as it stands Inaba is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, which really really blows.
1. Hideki Suzuki
(Suzuki Opens His Eyes For No One And I Mean No One)
Yeah you knew this was coming. Until late last year I had never heard anything about Mr. Suzuki which is more than likely do to the fact that he was attached to the waste land known as the Inoki Genome Federation. But since he's become a freelancer Suzuki has become a great fixture on the Japanese indie scene working most notably for Zero-1 and Wrestle-1 where he has played an intricate part in the Zero-1 vs Wrestle-1 feud, most recently winning the Wrestle-1 championship from KAI. Oh yes the best is yet to come with Suzuki and given his matches so far this year I can't wait to see more. Here's his theme to play us out.
Did I miss any? What's your top 5 let me know in the comment section down below.

ReplyDeleteGreat list my man. My only complaint is that Eli Drake is the Breakout Star of the Year - Every Year.
ReplyDeletewell Eli Drake won't hunt me down in my sleep then butterfly suplex me and steal my title, plus with the stiff competition from the ROH nachos and Cheeseburger these guys are lucky there even on the list
