Wrestle-1 4/1/15 Review Bonus

(Ryota Hama reminding you to eat a healthy balanced diet, suck it Michelle)

Well boys and girls it seems the gods of puro (AKA Real Hero & Gaijin Eric) have been good to us and returned the two missing matches from the Wrestle-1 show. So as a tribute to their kindness I'll review them let's get started.

Andy Wu vs Hijo del Pantera

Ah yes these two heated rivals are kicking off the much anticipated cruiser tournament. Both these guys had a really great showing, I think that Pantera has worked really well as a heel and even if for a moment, he may of actually made Desperado tolerable. It also needs to be said that Andy Wu is an amazing talent, he still needs to transition into to more of a hybrid style but as of right now the guy works the lucha style to perfection. There was a botch or two in here, which is to be expected with the lucha style, and while both guys still manage to find a way to work around it, it still brought the flow of the match down a little.

Match Grade: C+

Minoru Tanaka vs Seiki Yoshioka

From heated rivals to mentor vs student, you gotta love the dynamic of this tournament. These two tore the house down. This was an extremely exceptional match and both guys really did their part. Minoru did everything he could to make Seiki look good and worked. I feel it's worth noting that Minoru continues to have neck troubles, I really hope he gets it checked out before something bad happens. My only nitpick with this tournament so far, is that it's pretty by the numbers, an upset or two could of really brought some excitement to it, but other than that these matches have delivered so far. Seiki is one of my picks to have a breakout year and if he keeps performances like this up he'll deliver on that promise for sure.

Match Grade: B-

Well that's it for now boys and girls. I'll probably start my Tenryu retrospective sometime in May, until then Stay Classy.
