1st Notice this was written months ago, so a lot of what happens isn't correct or is irrelevant.
2nd Notice: this card is taking place after months of a company vs company feud which would see many dream matches and title changes occur, this is the blow off. For those of you who don’t follow wrestle-1 I will do my best to inform you on their stars that I have placed on this card. As well as try to fill you in as to where they fit into the overall feud.
Announcers: Tenay, Taz, and Jimmy Suzuki (works for W-1 as a PR guy and Translates for english talents)
Setting the stage: Becoming angry with the level of competition TNA had been sending to Wrestle-1, Keiji Mutoh decided that not only was he going to take the competition to TNA but burn the company down proving the superiority of Japanese wrestling in the process. On the other hand TNA wasn't going to let Mutoh and his boys run rampant without a fight, they invaded Wrestle-1 taking the fight right back to Wrestle-1's backyard. This angered Mutoh even further looking to end the fued once and for all he purposed a final battle between the two warring Companies.
Match one Samoa Joe vs Yoshihiro Takayama
The story behind this match is that Joe has beaten every challenger that Wrestle-1 has put in front of him and has warded off any and all attempts to take him out. That is until Muta decided to call upon his old friend Yoshihiro Takayama, who similar to Bobby Lashley, has beaten Joe multiple times in both non-title and tag matches. It would be one of few times where you’d believe someone could very well be capable of destroying Joe.Yoshihiro Takayama is one of two men to hold all three of the major titles in puroresu (GHC,Triple Crown, and IWGP heavyweight championships respectively). He’s had legendary battles with the likes of Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi, has a hard hitting take no nonsense style that’d you expect from a Japanese wrestling veteran, and to top all of that the not only survived a stroke BUT CAME BACK TO WRESTLING AFTERWARDS. To say he’s a badass dude would be an understatement, Takayama is in a class unto his own. This wouldn’t be the Traditional X- division match (which isn’t going to please everyone) it’s going to be an absolute sloppy take no prisoners brawl where there isn’t a winner, only a survivor.
Winner: Joe (12 mins 53 sec.)
How I envision this match happening is Joe trying to secure the upper hand right off the back and attempting finishing off Takayama quickly, however Takayama stays cool and just as quickly as Joe gains the advantage Takayama takes it back and soon begins to pull away with it. But just as it looks like he's ready to finish Joe off, he makes the mistake of getting cocky and enrages the already battered and beaten Joe. Joe makes a hot comeback, hits all of his signatures and in a call back to his early career in Japan hits Takayama with an Island driver then proceeds to choke him out.

Next up an X-division gauntlet to determine the #1 contender
Nothing much to this match just 3 W-1 guys and 3 TNA guys going up against one another
representing TNA Manik, Tigre UNO, and Homicide. On the W-1 side Andy Wu, Seiki Yoshioka, and Yusuke Kodama, all three of these young men are looking to prove their worth to W-1. Kodama is new to W-1 formerly from the now defunct WNC promotion winning the x-division gauntlet would be a hot start to his W-1 career. Andy Wu, however, was a trainee who was on a learning excursion in Mexico during the W-1/AJPW split and has spent the majority of his extremely young career in W-1 working show openers and being in others corner, and similar to Kodama is looking to have a breakthrough victory. On the other hand Seiki is the British Light Heavyweight Champion, he’s main evented a show with Sanada, at this point he isn’t looking to have a breakthrough match he’s looking to become one of W-1’s mainevent players, getting a shot at the X-division title would bring him that much closer to his goal. The final three of this match are Tigre Uno, Homicide, and Seiki. Tigre suggests thats he and Homicide work together to secure the victory for TNA, but…... Homicide being Homicide quickly squashes that and hits him with a gringo cutter. Seiki takes advantage of this and hits a flurry of moves on him gets the win with the swanton bomb. This will lead to a Homicide vs Seiki feud as well as Seiki Becoming a protege of Jeff Hardy and even wrestling a match against him, he’ll eventually turn on Hardy and come back to W-1 as a cocky heel who is too big for his britches.
Winner: Seiki (8 mins 15 sec.)
TNA 1 W-1 1
Things are all tied up now, the next match means that much more. Up next a dream match between two of the stiffest kicking guys in the business Tajiri vs Low Ki.
Tajiri needs no explanation, he has wrestled all around the world most notably for WWE and ECW. Low Ki is no spring chicken either, he is equally as world traveled and just as successful. One of the founding fathers of the x-division and the very first ROH champion. This matches is back and forth for the very beginning and never lets up. Each man is looking for the other to make a mistake, so they can finish them off. Tajiri wins after he sprays ki with the green mist whilst he’s mid-air attempting a springboard warriors way, and finishes him off with a buzz saw kick.
Winner: Tajiri (15 mins 23 sec.)
TNA 1 W-1 2
Match #4 Team 246 (Kaz Hayashi & Shuji Kondo) (C) vs The Wolves Last Chance Title Match!!!
Team 246 consists of former wcw star Kaz Hayashi and Junior heavyweight veteran Shuji Kondo. Kondo while standing at a modest 5 feet 7 inches, has quite the physique and wrestles a powerful and agile style.Hayashi isn’t any slouch either and even at forty years old is more athletic and agile than most 20 year olds. The Wolves are well the Wolves, their a cohesive unit, and are battle tested both against themselves and other teams. Apart they’re two world class athletes who can get it done with almost anyone, but together they're an almost unstoppable force of nature (pun intended). Now back to the feud, Team 246 are the ones who took the titles off of The Wolves, they’ve beaten every team they’ve faced as champions. The list of victims include the Bro Mans, Gunner & Anderson, Bram & Magnus, even Team 3D and Hardys have fallen prey to them. The Wolves haven’t been sulking since their loss though, they’ve been training their asses off and made it a personal goal to beat every team that 246 has gone through, leading to a three way tag series with team 3D & the Hardys to determine the number 1 contender. But the pressure is on, not only because W-1 now has the advantage, but because should the Wolves loose they can no longer challenge for the belts, no one can. Simply put if Kondo & Hayashi win they take the titles back to wrestle-1 and will rechristen them the W-1 tag team championships. For the Wolves and TNA this really is their Last Chance.
Winners the Wolves (22 mins 32 sec.) This match starts off slow then quickly becomes the balls to the wall spot fest we’d all expect it to be. The Wolves redeem themselves, TNA, and more importantly bring home the tag titles now and FOREVER!!!!
TNA 2 W-1 2
Next Up Special attraction match for the Knockouts Championship Taryn Terrell (c) vs Kana vs Yoshiko vs Jessicka Havok
The main reason I have this as a special attraction because W-1 doesn’t have it’s own women’s division so it won’t pertain to the overall points in tonights show. Yoshiko is like a female version of Samoa Joe, Kana works a heavy mma influenced style, and Havok is just looking to destroy everything in her way and take the KO’s title along the way. Taryn Terrell has proved herself to be the new face of the division by beating the very woman who created it Gail Kim and doesn’t want to be a one defense champion there couldn’t be a tougher test up ahead for her though. There’d be the crazy spots you’d expect from a Taryn match, Havok has the match won when Yoshiko pulls her out of the ring and starts to brawl with her. Taryn hits the cutter on Kana and retains. Afterwards Kana and Taryn shake hands and bow to one another while Havoc and Yoshiko continue to brawl around the arena until being pulled apart.
Winner: Taryn (12 mins 11s)
We’re in the home stretch now. Masakatsu Funaki is an MMA & pro wrestling icon. He is the co-founder of Pancrese promotion which predates the ufc, he is considered the second greatest fighter in his country’s history. To put in perspective of how good he was, he once lost a fight because he let the other guy put him it to a submission hold to add entertainment value to a match but was too far away from the ropes and had to tap out. On top of his success in MMA Funaki has had quite the memorable career in pro wrestling, he was the first man to be on the receiving end of the shooting star press, has had memorable matches with the likes of Minoru Suzuki and Bob Backlund, and has won countless titles including the AJPW Triple Crown and The Zero-1 heavyweight championship. Now you could be asking yourself with all that he’s accomplished what does the 45 year old Funaki have left to prove and that’s where Angle comes in. Funaki is obsessed with beating Kurt, he wants to prove himself to be of the highest quality in all of wrestling and beating a former olympic champion in the very first title defense of your company’s history certainly helps your cause. On the flipside a victory over Funaki would mean just as much Angle, if he wins he beats the man who created his finishing move, the ankle lock, as well as proving that he is still able to be a maineventer at the highest level.
Winner Funaki (23 mins 57 sec.)
This match could and would be amazing even given Fuanaki and Angle’s age. The match is back and forth with tons of submission counters, near falls, and high spots. In an almost poetic way Funaki wins after Angle passes out while being trapped inside the ankle lock.
TNA 2 W-1 3
This is it folks it all comes down to this. Team W-1(Muta,KAI, Mananbu Soya, Yasufumi Nakanoue, and Ryota Hama) vs Team TNA elimination match (Sanada, Austin Aries, James Storm, Bram, and Gunner)
If Wrestle-1 wins they get ultimate bragging rights, if tna wins they play the ultimate spoiler. But this match goes beyond just TNA vs Wrestle-1, it goes back to all Japan, back to 7 years before when both KAI and Sanada graduated from the AJPW dojo and made their way onto the grand stage. In the years to come Sanada and KAI would continue to rise up the ranks in All Japan, Whereas Sanada’s rise was quick and more smooth, KAI’s was rough, long, and grueling. While Sanada was maineventing and challenging for the Triple Crown, KAI was struggling to connect with the audience, wrestling in the Junior heavyweight division. Well finally his hard work paid off as All Japan announced that KAI was graduating the heavyweight division and ironically enough he would soon form a team Seiya Sanada. The team didn’t last long and the two began to face off against one another in what was only the start of their heated rivalry. KAI finally thought he’d won the rivalry between he and Sanada when claimed victory over him on the very first Wrestle-1 Show. But it just wasn’t true. When he declared himself the Ace of W-1 everyone laughed at him and said it was Sanada. When AJ Styles came to town Sanada was hand picked over him to be his opponent. When Magnus deemed KAI a future world champion It was overlooked by everyone because Sanada won the X-division title. But KAI could handle all of that it motivated him to prove himself more, which he did when he ended the terror known as Desperado in W-1, or so he thought. Just as before KAI was overshadowed by Sanada, but not for what he accomplished this time it was for what he did. Sanada turned on Muta and sided with TNA, to say that this enraged KAI beyond belief would be an understatement. KAI could tolerate being overshadowed by Sanada in the past, after all Sanada was better looking, wrestled a flashier style, had more charisma and success than him, but what he could not stand was Sanada turning his back on the promotion and mentor that made him, as well as tarnish what KAI himself had worked for a year to create . This was the greatest dishonor that anyone could pull against him, let alone Sanada. This was it, KAI vowed to not only secure the victory for Wrestle-1 but to defeat Sanada in the process. with all that out of the way lets get into it.
Elimination Order: 1 Ryota Hama, 2 Gunner 3 Bram 4 Manabu Soya 5 Aries 6 Yasufumi 7 James Storm 8 Muta
Now it’s down to the two heated rivals. Back and Forth at each other with stiff exchanges and great chain wrestling, both hit all their signatures on one another and kick out of each others finishes. KAI goes for one last LAT (similar to the all hail Sabin) and Sanada counters and locks him into the this is it ( grape vine dragon sleeper), KAI accepting defeat and realizing that Sanada truly is the better man taps out. The two embrace afterwards with KAI getting very emotional and vowing to train even harder so he may one day stand along with Sanada as his equal. The announcers really talk up this moment, they say that this is what it’s all about and even though TNA won the elimination match, both KAI and Wrestle-1 have proved themselves tonight.
Winner Sanada (20 mins 51 sec.)
TNA 3 W-1 3
the two promotions prove to be equally matched and the feud ends in a draw
Roode has been gunning for Lashley for months, not only does he want to beat him, he needs to, to prove once and for all that he is TNA’s franchise player. Lashley has been the silent conqueror destroying everything in front of him and not making any noise about it, to him Roode is just another piece of raw meat waiting to be preyed upon. Lashley dominates most of the early match until he spears the ring post. Roode works him over for much of the middle, then Lashley in a desperate attempt tries to mount a comeback after a flurry of offense he goes for a final spear which Roode counters into a crossface. Lashley’s arm finally gives way and he taps out in order to fight another day.
Winner Roode (20 mins 41)
Masakatsu Funaki comes out afterwards to both congratulate Roode on his victory and Challenge him to Champion vs Champion title match, which Roode accepts. And show goes off the air.
There would be a press conference afterwards with, Keiji Mutoh stating that even though tonight’s show was a draw the feud between the two promotions is over, and that they will now work together on friendly terms to build a stronger better wrestling brand for the future. It is also announced that TNA and W-1 will hold their first joint show in the U.S. in January for Genesis and that The Roode vs Funaki Champion vs Champion Match will occur then. On a side note Seiki will be going on a learning excursion to the U.S. and Sanada teases a full time return to W-1 in the not so distant future.
So if you’re Still around I thank you. This was my Fantasy booking for BFG in Japan. Was it perfect no, but was it something that fans will appreciate and look back on as something totally unique and different for its time, well I’d like to think so.
Let me know what you think in the comments down below as well as what your fantasy BFG card would be for this year. Some ground rules you must include W-1 talent, you can’t change locations, and you have to keep everything within reason.

Very intresting card. I'm sure this would have been a great show. I'm still really hoping we get to see Funaki vs. Angle at some point. A shame Angle was in on the shelf at the time.
ReplyDeleteI hope we get to see Roode defend the TNA title in Wrestle-1 at some point this year.
